LEGAL CASHIER REQUIRED – CORBY OFFICE

Full Time – Monday to Friday: 8.45am – 5.00 p.m.

This position is for our Corby Office, 1 Alexandra Road, Corby, Northants, NN17 1PE.

Experience of working in a legal office is a crucial requirement for this role – we need a person who can hit the ground running from the start. A friendly and positive attitude is key.

We are only looking to receive applications from candidates who can prove a good knowledge of the SRA Rules and Regulations and who come from an accounting background.

Salary:- Negotiable (Depending on Experience)

Role

The role will be based in our Accounts Department in Corby but the work will involve accounting services for our Corby Office and our Kettering office.

Skills Required

Must have relevant accounting qualification, word processing skills up to RSA, must be able to produce accurate work.  Must be educated to GCSE English and Maths.  Must be able to work to strict deadlines and must be able to prioritise work.  The successful candidate will need to have a professional telephone manner with smart appearance.

Knowledge

You must have a good grasp of general knowledge and must have a detailed knowledge of legal accountancy standards and regulations.  You must have experience with using word and Excel.  You should be competent at dealing with other professionals such as bank managers and accountants.

Personal Attributes

Ability to work under pressure and show initiative.  Be able to communicate orally with confidence and sensitivity.  Being able to work as part of a team is a must, be conscientious in task completion, achieve and react calmly to time pressure deadlines and must be punctual and have a good attendance record.

Use of our Case Management System (full training will be given)

Key Duties:-

  • Maintaining ledger system, banking, including printing cheques.
  • Financial analysis
  • Producing VAT returns
  • Ensure payment of all bills, opening and closing of client ledgers.
  • Petty Cash
  • Dealing with telephone enquiries
  • Administer wages system – Capital Cold Payroll
  • Administer Seatons pension scheme online and regularly update

Other Duties/Special Projects

  • Attend staff meetings
  • Keep up to date with SRA Account Rules

EXPERIENCED CONVEYANCER REQUIRED – KETTERING OFFICE

Full Time – Monday to Friday 8.45-5.00 p.m.

This position is for our Kettering Office, 6 Market Street, Kettering, Northants NN15 0PH.

Experience of working in a customer driven environment is an essential requirement of this role together with a friendly and positive attitude.  A good knowledge of the Conveyancing procedure is essential.

Salary: Negotiable (Depending on Experience/qualifications)

The Role

The role will involve working in our Conveyancing Department as part of a team which is headed up by Emma McHughGemma McKimmie is overall Head of Department and is based at our Corby office.  The candidate we require is someone who has experience of working in a fast paced and busy office environment, who already has the ability and track record of running their own case load in residential property Sales and Purchase, Re-mortgage and Right to Buy.   Part of the role will be to meet and greet clients and agents/brokers in a professional manner, answering and making calls and be able to set up a good rapport with Estate Agents, Brokers as part of the team’s ongoing marketing strategy.

Skills Required:

The successful candidate will have a strong customer focus and be able to carry out conveyancing procedures unsupervised from start to finish and have the knowledge across all fields.  The role will also involve a wide range of general administration duties and excellent typing skills are crucial.  The ability to prioritise your workload and meet deadlines is essential.  The ideal candidate will be numerate and articulate, with GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, have a professional telephone manner with smart appearance, be a confident communicator and have good organisation and planning skills.

We require the candidate to be confident in using the internet, email, word and excel.  Full training will be given in relation to our software system.

LEGAL SECRETARY/SUPPORT STAFF TEAM MEMBER REQUIRED – CONVEYANCING DEPARTMENT – CORBY OFFICE

The role will involve working in our Conveyancing Department dealing with all matters relating to property Sales and Purchase, Re-mortgage and Right to buy so a good knowledge of the conveyancing procedure is required. Part of your role will also be to meet and greet clients/visitors in a professional manner, answering and making calls, taking and relaying messages to your Fee Earner including:

  • Co-ordinating and preparing incoming and outgoing post
  • Maintaining and updating fee earner diaries
  • Making appointments
  • Opening and closing/archiving files
  • Use of our Case Management System (full training will be given)
